Oct. 12, 1962- Len Dawson passed for 302 yards and two touchdowns as the Texans beat the Patriots, 27-7, in Boston. Chris Burford caught 10 passes for 171 receiving yards.

Oct. 12, 1975- Paul Wiggin’s first victory as the Chiefs head coach is a rout. The Chiefs humble the Raiders at Arrowhead, 42-10.

Oct. 12, 1980- Chiefs quarterback Steve Fuller runs 38 yards for the winning touchdown late in the game as Kansas City upsets the Oilers, 21-20.

Oct. 12, 2003- The Chiefs overcome a 17 point fourth quarter deficit for the first time in team history, pulling out an improbable 40-34 overtime win at Green Bay.

Oct. 13, 1991- The Chiefs toy with the Dolphins and win easily, 42-7. Christian Okoye stars in the game, running for 153 yards.

Oct. 14, 1984- Wide receiver Carlos Carson catches seven passes for 165 yards in the Chiefs 31-13 win over the Chargers.

Oct. 14, 1990- Barry Word rushes for a team record 200 yards against Detroit at Arrowhead. Kansas City wins, 43-24.

Oct. 14, 2001- Priest Holmes rushes for 150 yards and two touchdowns, but the Chiefs can’t overcome a 20-2 deficit and lose to the Steelers at Arrowhead, 20-17.

Oct. 15, 1970- Mike Garrett is traded to the Chargers for a second-round pick in the 1971 draft. Ed Podolak takes over the starting halfback position.

Oct. 15, 1978- The Chiefs lose their sixth straight game, this time to Oakland, 28-6.

Oct. 15, 2000- The Raiders squeak past the Chiefs at Arrowhead with a late field goal, winning 20-17. The loss drops the Chiefs record to 3-3.

Oct. 16, 1997- Elvis Grbac tosses two touchdown passes as the Chiefs down the Chargers, 31-3, at Arrowhead.
