Oct. 17, 1993- Kansas City nips San Diego, 17-14, improving their record to 5-1.
Oct. 18, 1971- The Chiefs easily defeated the Steelers on “Monday Night Football”, 38-16.
Oct. 18, 1977- Chiefs linebacker Fred Jones was born.
Oct. 18, 1987- The Chiefs replacement team loses its third straight game, 26-17, to the Broncos, dropping the team’s record to 1-4.
Oct. 19, 1969- The Chiefs beat the Dolphins, 17-10. Mike Livingston, Otis Taylor, and Robert Holmes combine for a unique 93-yard touchdown pass play; Taylor caught the initial pass from Livingston, then lateraled to Holmes, who carried the ball into the end zone.
Oct. 19, 1986- The Chiefs win a close one over the Chargers at home, 42-41, improving the team’s record to 4-3.
Oct. 20, 1974- The Chiefs lost a heartbreaker to Miami, 9-3.
Oct. 20, 2003- The Chiefs defeated the Raiders 17-10 on “Monday Night Football” to improve their record to 7-0.
Oct. 21, 2001- Trent Green passes for 352 yards, but the Chiefs give up three second half touchdowns and lose to the Cardinals, 24-16.
Oct. 22, 1989- Chrisitian Okoye carried the ball 33 times for 170 yards as the Chiefs defeated the Cowboys at Arrowhead, 36-28.
Oct. 22, 1995- The Chiefs defeated the Broncos at Mile High Stadium, 21-7.
Oct. 23, 1966- The Chiefs dismantled the Broncos at Denver, 56-10. This convincing win improved the team’s mark to 5-2.
Oct. 23, 1968- Chiefs tight end/long snapper Kendall Gammon was born.
