Oct. 31, 1965- The Chiefs defeated Oakland at Municipal Stadium, 14-7, to improve the team’s record to 4-3-1.
Oct. 31, 1977- The Chiefs fired head coach Paul Wiggin. Tom Bettis took over the head coaching duties for the Chiefs on an interim basis, and coached the team for the remaining seven games of the season.
Oct. 31, 1999- The Chiefs dominated the Chargers at Arrowhead Stadium 34-0, and improved their record to 5-2 with the win.
Nov. 1, 1964- Len Dawson passed for a club record 435 yards and six touchdowns, as the Chiefs downed the Broncos, 49-39, at Municipal Stadium. Dawson hit on 23 of 38 pass attempts.
Nov. 3, 1968- The Raiders easily defeated the Chiefs at Oakland, 38-21. One of the few highlights for Kansas City was when Len Dawson and Gloster Richardson hooked up for a 92-yard touchdown pass.
Nov. 3, 1997- After falling behind 10-0, the Chiefs battled back and won a hard-fought Monday Night Football game with the Steelers, 13-10.
Nov. 4, 2001- After blowing a 19-0 lead in the first half, the Chiefs came back with a fourth quarter touchdown and defeated the Chargers in San Diego, 25-20. Priest Holmes ran for 181 yards as the Chiefs snapped a four game losing streak.
Nov. 5, 1967- Mike Garrett rushed for 193 yards in the Chiefs 42-18 win over the Jets.
Nov. 5, 1971- Chiefs quarterback Todd Collins was born.
Nov. 5, 1972- 82,094 fans crammed into Arrowhead Stadium and watched the Chiefs defeat the Raiders, 27-14, the team’s first win at the new stadium.
Nov. 5, 2000- Elvis Grbac threw for 504 yards and two touchdowns, but the Raiders defeated the Chiefs in Oakland anyway, 49-31.
Nov. 6, 1977- Tom Bettis earned his first and only win as Kansas City’s head coach when the Chiefs played an inspired game and defeated the Packers, 20-10.
