Chiefs Terminate the Contract of WR Johnnie Morton

[KC Chiefs.com] Kansas City Chiefs President Carl Peterson announced on Thursday that the club has terminated the contract of WR Johnnie Morton.

“We appreciate Johnnie Morton’s effort during his tenure with the Kansas City Chiefs,” Peterson stated. “We wish him the best in the future.”

Morton (6-0, 185) played in 43 games (42 starts) in his three seasons (2002-04) with Kansas City. He caught 134 passes for 1,932 yards (14.4 avg.) with eight touchdowns and added 25 carries for 261 yards (10.4 avg.). In 2004, he recorded 55 receptions for 795 yards (14.5 avg.) with three TDs. He originally joined the club as a free agent on March 29, 2002.
