[Kansas City.com] The case of the missing 318-pound lineman has been solved, sort of.
Brian Waters has told Chiefs president/general manager Carl Peterson that he’ll be at this month’s minicamp. And, as far as Peterson knows, his Pro Bowl guard isn’t holding out for money.
“He wanted to be with his kids this offseason,” Peterson said Thursday. “He’s never done that before. I’ve talked to him, and he said, ‘I’ll be at minicamp, I’ll be in shape, and I’ll be ready to go.’ ”
Waters, who made his first Pro Bowl in 2004, missed the Chiefs’ first two weeks of offseason practice. He fired his agent about six months ago, and when he didn’t show up in Kansas City, it was speculated that Waters was staying away because of contract issues.
“When a player’s not here, that’s usually the speculation,” Peterson said. “I don’t have any knowledge of that, no.”
