[Kansas City.com] The last man on the Chiefs’ missing list came home Wednesday, and Brian Waters stayed long enough to say hi to coach Dick Vermeil, slap a few hands, and insist on one thing.
He’s not holding out for more money.
“Definitely not,” Waters said. “I’m a Chief. I’m ready to go, man.”
Well, Waters isn’t completely ready. He watched Wednesday’s practice in street clothes, attended an evening charity event, then made plans to be back in Dallas today to pick up his kids. He’s not participating in any of the Chiefs’ offseason workouts. He’s not in the weight room with his linemates.
Vermeil said his Pro Bowl guard looked “a little heavy.”
“(But) that’s to be expected if you’re not practicing,” Vermeil said. “It’s tough to be in great shape by yourself. Some guys can do it. But I trust him. I think when it’s time, he’ll be in good shape.”
