[Topeka Capital-Journal] Chiefs Pro Bowl guard Will Shields confirmed Thursday that he would play a 13th season this year.

Speaking at a charity golf tournment he hosts, Shields said his body felt healthy enough now that he feels up to playing. A 10-time Pro Bowl player, Shields had been noncommittal in previous public comments about his intentions, saying that he was inclined to play but would leave open the possibility of retirement.

He had not participated in any of the team’s recently concluded on-field spring practices.
