[Kansas City.com] Three Chiefs began practice today after passing a workout for medical clearance last night. Linebacker Scott Fujita and receivers Marc Boerigter and Chris Horn returned to action after missing offseason workouts and minicamp while recovering from injuries.

Chiefs linebacker Mike Maslowski did not receive clearance after participating in the same workout.

“Patience,” coach Dick Vermeil told his linebacker, who has been out for 1½ seasons with a knee injury. “He’s starting to play again after coming off an operation that no NFL player has ever had before, so we’ll learn as he will learn.”

Vermeil said he was held out because he wasn’t “quite 100 percent there.”

“I think he controls the timetable,” Vermeil said of Maslowski. “It’s really early in camp; we’ve got a long ways to go and four preseason games to play. We just want to do things right for Maz.”
