[Kansas City.com] The Chiefs have been camping for almost a week, meaning they’re getting close to the time when they usually hold their joint practices against the Vikings. Minnesota trains in Mankato, Minn., a couple of hours away.
But the Chiefs won’t be practicing with the Vikings this year. They told Minnesota not to bother making the trip to River Falls.
The Chiefs lost a player for the season to injuries in the Minnesota practices in each of the last two seasons and were concerned it might happen again.
Instead, the Chiefs will just continue their usual practice routine. They will take the day off Thursday but hold two-a-day workouts Friday and Saturday.
The Chiefs won’t face outside competition until the Aug. 12 preseason opener against the Vikings in Minneapolis.
