[Yahoo Sports] Thunderstorms forced the Chiefs to move this morning’s practice indoors to a gym on the campus of the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.

Because of the cramped conditions, the practice was held at a slower than normal speed. The session was cut short by about 45 minutes.

“It’s better than not working at all,” coach Dick Vermeil said. “You lose the quickness and the high intensity repetition. That helps you develop conditioning and stamina. The other thing is you can’t really get good fundamental work going inside.”

“You hope you don’t have any (rain days). But at least it wasn’t a scheduled padded practice.”

The Chiefs are scheduled for a full padded practice this afternoon in what forecasters are saying will be hot and humid conditions.
