[KC Chiefs.com] Kansas City held a brief one-hour walk-thru practice in shorts and hats on Thursday morning in preparation for their preseason opener tomorrow night against Minnesota.

On Friday night the Chiefs reserves will play a majority of the game as they battle for positions on the final 53-man roster. The starters are expected to play the first two or three series before giving away to the backups. This game will be key for evaluating the individual development and how the cohesion of each is progressing.

“Block protection, defensive line play, all the little intricacies that are required to play the line of scrimmage better, then linebackers’ ricochet ability, drop ability, coverage ability, tackling, all those different things,” head coach Dick Vermeil said. “It all starts on the line of scrimmage; the whole game starts on the line of scrimmage.”
