[Kansas City.com] Head coach Dick Vermeil said Kevin Sampson has shown him enough to be given the starting right tackle spot. The position was to be a battle between Sampson and Jordan Black, but Sampson seized the spot by playing well in camp.
“First off, he does everything well, and plus, he works every day against Eric Hicks, and Eric Hicks is a very intense practice player,” Vermeil said. “So, he passes the test every day, every snap that he’s in front of Eric Hicks. Eric slaps him around pretty good. It’s helped him hone his techniques, and he’s tough enough to handle that kind of pressure and smart as heck. I expect him to play well.”
