Injury Update

[Topeka Capital-Journal] The Chiefs reported only three injuries from the game.

The most serious appears to be a left knee sprain sustained by running back Robert Holcombe. The former member of Dick Vermeil’s 1999 Rams Super Bowl team had to be carted off the field. The Chiefs had hoped Holcombe could serve as a combo backup at both running back (behind Priest Holmes and Larry Johnson) and fullback behind Tony Richardson. If his injury is severe, Kansas City might have to carry a No. 3 back and find a backup fullback.

Starting right tackle Kevin Sampson aggravated a right turf toe that had been bothering him in camp. Backup quarterback Todd Collins has a bruised throwing hand after hitting it on a Viking helmet.
