[Topeka Capital-Journal] The playing status of TE Tony Gonzalez, who has been practicing this week with a broken pinky finger, will be determined before kickoff. Same with cornerback Eric Warfield, who is experiencing back pain again after undergoing major back surgery two years ago.

Not expected to play for KC are both right-side LBs — newcomer Kendrell Bell (for a second straight week) and backup Keyaron Fox. Undrafted free agent Kris Griffin likely will start at the position.

Also not expected to play are two regulars on the defensive line, John Browning and Junior Siavii. Projected starting right tackle Kevin Sampson (dislocated toe) won’t play, and Jordan Black will start for him. John Welbourn will start a second game at right guard for Will Shields, who might return to full practice next week.
