[Kansas City.com] Vermeil said linebacker Kendrell Bell may not play against the Seahawks because of concerns over his shoulder. Bell did a limited amount of contact work earlier in the week.
“The player knows when he’s really ready and when he’s not ready,” Vermeil said. “(Wednesday) he jumped in there and he flashed around. You can tell he has movement just like Derrick Johnson does. Those guys are rare. He showed some signs of not wanting to use everything yet and just turning himself loose in the contact area. When we put him in the ballgame, I really want him to be able to do that.”
Asked whether Bell would play in the regular-season opener, Vermeil said, “I expect him to, but we aren’t going to put him out there unless he’s really ready.”
