Chiefs Cut Six Players

[KC Chiefs.com] Chiefs President Carl Peterson announced on Monday that the club has made six transactions in anticipation of the NFL’s first mandatory cutdown day on Tuesday, August 30th. The Chiefs have trimmed their roster to 84 players, including 10 NFL Europe roster exemptions. The club will need to cut nine more players from its roster to reach its roster limit by Tuesday.

The Chiefs terminated the contract of LB Quinton Caver. The club also waived RB Samkon Gado, C Mike Johnson, DE Darius Jones, TE Mike Kallfelz and CB Justin Perkins. Each team must finalize its 53-man roster on Saturday, September 3rd and can create an eight-man practice squad beginning on Sunday, September 4th.
