[Kansas City.com] The Chiefs’ quarterback situation may be dicey now, but apparently Joey Harrington isn’t the answer.

Chiefs president/general manager Carl Peterson denied speculation late Friday that he had inquired about Harrington, a three-year starter for the Lions who’s gone 14-30.

“That is absolutely false,” Peterson said.

After a bizarre string of quarterback injuries, the Chiefs went with Jonathan Quinn as their starting quarterback Friday night at St. Louis. Quinn had been inactive for about six months after being cut by Chicago. Starter Trent Green was back in Kansas City after having surgery to repair an artery tear in his leg; backups Todd Collins and Damon Huard also sat out Friday with injuries.

Peterson said he was on a call with Lions president Matt Millen this week for a league matter but there were no discussions about Harrington.
