[Kansas City.com] It was a sight to gladden the heart of every player and coach in Kansas City.
There was Trent Green out there on the practice field. The Pro Bowl quarterback who underwent surgery on Aug. 30 to put a stent in an artery in his lower left leg seemed almost 100 percent.
Although he missed all but a few plays of the final two exhibition games, everyone said he looked every bit like a quarterback who will be ready for Sunday’s season opener.
“He was out there throwing the ball extremely well,” said fullback Tony Richardson. “One guy I know will be there is Trent. I don’t care if he had to go out there with one leg. He’s a competitor. He’s the guy who drives our ship.”
