[Kansas City.com] Cornerback Patrick Surtain is breathing easier. His father, Alcede, who had waited out Hurricane Katrina, was found safe, the Chiefs said Tuesday.
Surtain spent a week waiting to hear from his father, who lives in downtown New Orleans.
The Chiefs announced Tuesday that volunteers will be collecting money outside Arrowhead Stadium before Sunday’s kickoff. The donations will go to Heart to Heart International’s hurricane relief.
