Coach Dick Vermeil said the Chiefs are checking out Pathon and former Denver running back Quentin Griffin.

Pathon signed with the Seahawks in the offseason but was a cutdown-day casualty last week. A former second-round draft pick out of Washington in 1998, Pathon had spent the last three seasons with New Orleans, catching 34 passes for 581 yards and a touchdown in 2004.
