Chiefs Players of the Game: Broncos

Posted By ChiefsWarpath.com On September 27, 2005 @ 7:56 pm In Commentary | Comments Disabled

Each week during the 2005 season I will choose an offensive, defensive and special teams player of the game. Here are my selections for the Chiefs after their ugly loss at Denver:

Offense: WR Eddie Kennison

The lone bright spot on the struggling Chiefs offense. The ex-Bronco Kennison recorded 8 receptions for 112 yards despite being booed every time he touched the ball.

Defense: SS Greg Wesley

It’s kind of hard to find a player of the game on a unit that gave up 221 rushing yards and over 350 combined yards, but safety Greg Wesley stood out as the lone bright spot on the Chiefs defense. Wesley recorded nine tackles, two assists and he made a nice play near the goal line to keep Mike Anderson out of the endzone (of course the Broncos scored two plays later).

Special Teams: K Lawrence Tynes

No one really stood out for their special team’s work last night, but kicker Lawrence Tynes did connect on his one and only field goal attempt and consistently had his kickoff’s reach the endzone (thanks for the altitude).
