[Kansas City.com] For the second straight game, running back Larry Johnson lost a fumble.
But Chiefs coach Dick Vermeil said this turnover, near the end of the first half, wasn’t Johnson’s fault. Johnson bobbled an exchange, and Sam Rayburn recovered at the 50. Five plays later, the Eagles scored and pulled within 11 points.
“He had nothing to do with that fumble,” Vermeil said. “That was a delayed-draw handoff, and there was penetration, and they were hit right at the exchange. That’s what caused the fumble. It wasn’t Larry’s fault at all.”
