[Kansas City.com] Former Chiefs Freddie Mitchell and Mike Maslowski worked out for the Chiefs on Friday. Both were released during the preseason.
Mitchell injured a knee early in the preseason, initially decided against arthroscopic surgery and then had the procedure after leaving the Chiefs.
Vermeil repeated his earlier statements that the Chiefs would re-sign Mitchell only if one of their wide receivers is injured.
“We brought him back here to evaluate him,” he said.
Vermeil put the Chiefs’ plans for Maslowski, a linebacker, in the same category. Maslowski is a former starter but hasn’t played for almost two years because of knee problems.
