[KC Chiefs.com] The NFL informed the Chiefs on Tuesday that K Lawrence Tynes has been named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week for the first time in his career after his performance in a 30-20 win at Miami last Friday night.

Tynes is the first Chiefs kicker to claim Conference Player of the Week accolades since Michael Husted earned the award in 2002.

Tynes had perhaps the best game of his NFL career last weekend kicking in adverse conditions before the impending arrival of Hurricane Wilma in Southern Florida. Tynes was a perfect three-for-three in field goals, including two kicks from over 50 yards.
