Tony Richardson’s 6-yard touchdown reception on a third-and-goal play at the 6 in the third quarter was his first touchdown since 2002. “Every once in awhile they’ll throw me one and I’ll slip in,” he said.
Larry Johnson’s 100-yard rushing day was his second of the season and fifth of his career. His two rushing touchdowns were his seventh multiple-touchdown game. In four games against Oakland, Johnson has rushed for 345 yards and six TDs. He also has 147 receiving yards.
Chiefs kicker Lawrence Tynes nailed both tries of 27 and 47 yards to his extend his streak of successful kicks to 13 since his last miss in Week Two at Oakland.
Kansas City played without six players who have been starters this year: injured LT Willie Roaf (hamstring), RB Priest Holmes (post-concussion), CB Patrick Surtain (knee), CB Dexter McCleon (groin), WR Samie Parker (knee) and DT Ryan Sims (foot).
The only injury the Chiefs reported was to CB Eric Warfield, who aggravated the hip pointer he sustained last week in San Diego.
Sebastian Janikowski’s first of three field goals in the first quarter were the first opening stanza points given up the Chiefs at Arrowhead this year.
