[Kansas City.com] Cornerback Patrick Surtain moved around the postgame locker room on crutches, an ominous sign as the Chiefs head into a difficult stretch of schedule. They will play six opponents that headed into the weekend in the top 12 in offense, including next week’s home game against New England.

The Chiefs listed Surtain as having a right ankle sprain. He was replaced by Dewayne Washington.

  • Nickel back Benny Sapp left the game briefly because of what the Chiefs called a right hip bruise. He returned to play despite the injury.

  • Long snapper Kendall Gammon was knocked out because of what the Chiefs called a lower left leg bruise. Jared Allen took over as the deep snapper.
