[KC Chiefs.com] Former Chiefs linebacker Derrick Thomas is among 25 semifinalists for selection to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame’s Board of Selector’s chose the semifinalists from a list of 112 preliminary nominees.
The list of semi-finalists will be reduced by mail ballot to 15 modern-era candidates including two nominees selected by the Seniors Committee and be announced mid-January. Thomas was among that list last year.
To be considered for election to the Pro Football Hall of Fame, a nominated player must have been retired at least five years. The selection of the Class of 2006 will be determined at the Selection Committee’s annual meeting on February 4 in Detroit, Michigan, the day before Super Bowl XL.
