[Kansas City.com] Jets owner Woody Johnson tried to quash all speculation that his coach may be bolting for Kansas City, saying Wednesday that Herm Edwards will be in New York next season.
“Herm wants to be here,” Johnson told reporters. “I promise you that. He likes it here, he’s got a job to do, he’s doing a good job, and we want him here.”
A week ago, Edwards pondered his future in New York in his news conference and then later in the day said he planned on being back as the Jets’ coach in 2006. For weeks, Edwards’ name has popped up in the Chiefs’ possible coaching search.
