Maybe it is because I do it every home game. Maybe it is because I have done it for years. Maybe it is because I have done it at various other venues. Whatever the reason, may be I was not truly aware of the awesome effect that the incredible, not to be matched anywhere, you must experience this, tailgating at Arrowhead can do to people.
Last week I had the opportunity to bring to Arrowhead several football buddies who were enjoying their first time there, some their first pro game. One of them, a Patriots fan, was so enthralled by the whole scene in Parking Lot A that he has already made me promise to bring him next year, regardless of who the Chiefs are playing.
Another, a Chiefs fan this time, called his wife from the parking lot and told her that she should plan on him not being home several Sundays next year. Both of these guys made their comments just minutes after arrival, before I had even put the deer sausage or honey-mustard chicken on the grill.
This is all to bring attention to the most wonderful and the classiest fans in the world–THE CHIEFS! We even had some Patriots fans tell us that the good folks in Parking Lot A were the best they had seen and that visiting fans in Foxboro would never be treated as well as they were that day–of course, the lobsters they were sharing with folks may have had something to do with that.
Nothing, and I mean nothing, compares to game day at Arrowhead and just the incredible fun, sheer joy and wonderful sights, sounds and beautiful smells of tailgating.
