[KC Chiefs.com] The NFL informed the Chiefs on Friday that QB Trent Green and RB Larry Johnson have been selected as the FedEx NFL Players of the Week by voters on NFL.com for their performances against the Cincinnati Bengals last Sunday. Green earned his first FedEx NFL Air Player of the Week honor, while Johnson took home NFL Ground Player of the Week accolades for the second time this season. Green and Johnson were the only set of teammates during the 2005 season to sweep these awards in the same week.

Green completed 23 of 29 passes for 344 yards and one TD, good for a passer rating of 127.6 in the Chiefs dominating 37-3 victory over the Bengals. Green’s 79.3 completion percentage was his highest of the season, while his 344 passing yards and 127.6 rating were his second-best efforts of 2005.

Johnson carried the ball 26 times for 201 yards (7.7 avg.) with three touchdowns. Those 201 rushing yards were the second-highest single-game total in franchise history and were the fifth-highest single-game total in the NFL this season. Johnson registered TD runs of 49, 15 and 20 yards, giving him 20 rushing TDs on the season, the third-highest seasonal total in KC history.
