[Kansas City.com] A former Chiefs assistant coach pleaded guilty Thursday in Kansas City Municipal Court to disorderly conduct in connection with an October skirmish with a police officer.

Police cited Jason Verduzco, who at the time was the tight-ends coach, with “attempting to inflict bodily injury” after he allegedly made an illegal turn into the Truman Sports Complex.

Prosecutors allowed Verduzco to plead guilty to disorderly conduct. A judge sentenced him to two years’ probation. He also will be required to attend an anger-management program and complete 20 hours of community service.

Verduzco was a Chiefs offensive assistant from 2001 to 2003 and coached the quarterbacks in 2004 and the tight ends in 2005.
