[Kansas City.com] Head coach Herm Edwards said Friday that he’s talked about Terrell Owens, a five-time Pro Bowl receiver, to Chiefs president/general manager Carl Peterson and is intrigued by him but that the parties have not met.

“We haven’t heard from his agent at this point in time,” Edwards said. “I haven’t heard from Terrell. If I do have a conversation with Terrell Owens, obviously everyone will know about it, and if it would come to fruition that he was here, then obviously you’d get to talk to him, too. But at this point, he’s not here, and I haven’t talked to him.”

Asked whether the ball is in Owens’ court, Edwards said, “We’re not calling anybody. We’re just kind of sitting.”

Mike Solari, who was promoted to offensive coordinator, was noncommittal about the T.O. talk Friday.

“We’re looking for playmakers,” he said. “The most important thing is Herman will make those decisions. I’m looking forward to working with the players we have.”
