[Philadelphia Daily News] The Kansas City Chiefs have once again proposed increasing the number of playoff teams. In the past, the proposal hasn’t received a lot of support. But the fact that the Steelers became the first No. 6 seed to win the Super Bowl, and the fact that issuing two more postseason invites would allow the league to put a postseason game on the NFL Network this season, could change that.

“It probably took us more time to discuss it and different aspects of it this year than any year in the past,” said Atlanta Falcons president Rich McKay, the co-chairman of the league’s competition committee, which will make rule-change recommendations to the owners at the meeting. “The league and the teams have talked a lot about it. It is one that definitely has sparked some interest.”
