[Kansas City.com] Chiefs owner Lamar Hunt was appointed to an eight-member committee by Commissioner Paul Tagliabue to lead the search for a new commissioner.
Jerry Richardson of the Carolina Panthers and Dan Rooney of the Pittsburgh Steelers will chair the committee, which includes some of the league’s most influential owners. The committee includes Al Davis of the Oakland Raiders, Woody Johnson of the New York Jets, Jerry Jones of the Dallas Cowboys, Robert Kraft of the New England Patriots and Mike McCaskey of the Chicago Bears.
Tagliabue announced on March 20 that he will retire by the end of July.
