[KC Chiefs.com] Tamba was an unheralded defensive tackle during his first two seasons with the Nittany Lions who blossomed after shifting to end as a junior.

The 2005 season saw Hali garner consensus All-American first-team honors. He was named Big Ten Defensive Lineman of the Year, as he led the conference and ranked eighth in the nation with eleven sacks and ranked second in the Big Ten with 17 stops behind the line of scrimmage. He accounted for 65 tackles (27 solos), deflected four passes and caused a fumble.

In 47 games at Penn State, Tamba started 34 times. He recorded 179 tackles (84 solos) with fourteen sacks for minus 87 yards and 36 stops for losses of 148 yards. He recovered a fumble and caused two others. He also deflected six passes and had one interception.
