AFC Divisional Playoff VS. Cincinnati Bengals

Headline: Chiefs Rally to Beat Bengals

Larry Johnson rushed for 117 yards and scored two touchdowns, including the game winner with 1:02 left in the game, giving the Chiefs a 23-20 victory over the Bengals. Cincinnati led for much of the game behind the great play of quarterback Carson Palmer who connected on 27 of 36 passes for 256 yards and a touchdown. Rudi Johnson added 110 yards on the ground, but his fumble with just under four minutes to go set up the Chiefs game winning score.

AFC Championship Game VS. Denver Broncos

Headline: Super Bowl Bound!

From the opening kickoff until the final gun, the Chiefs jumped all over the Denver Broncos and never let up. In the end, the Chiefs walked away with a 37-17 victory and the Lamar Hunt Trophy. Trent Green threw for over 300 yards and three touchdowns and running back Larry Johnson added 127 yards on the ground and another score. The Chiefs defense sacked Jake Plummer four times and forced him to throw three interceptions before he was benched at the end of the third quarter.

Super Bowl XLI VS. Seattle Seahawks

Headline: Hail to the Chiefs!

Trent Green hooked-up with wide receiver Eddie Kennison for two fourth quarter touchdowns as the Chiefs rallied to defeat the NFC Champion Seattle Seahawks. Led by the play of running back Shaun Alexander and quarterback Matt Hasselbeck, the Seahawks took a 24-17 lead into the final period. But, Kansas City was able to control the clock in the final period–Seattle only ran seven plays–and regained the lead for good on Kennison’s second touchdown reception with 2:30 remaining. Quarterback Trent Green threw for 298 yards and three touchdowns and was named the games’ Most Valuable Player.
