[Kansas City.com] Running back Larry Johnson returned to practice Thursday, but not kick returner Dante Hall, whose status for Sunday’s game at Pittsburgh remained in doubt.
Also back for the first time in more than two weeks was left tackle Kyle Turley, who missed the past two games with a sore back.
Coach Herm Edwards said Johnson’s neck remained sore. His head was twisted near the end of the Chiefs’ 23-20 victory at Arizona on Sunday when a tackler grabbed him by the facemask.
“He’s still sore. But he was practicing today. He’s probable,” Edwards said.
Hall, who injured his hip while returning the second-half kickoff at Arizona, sat out the half and has not been able to practice since.
decision on Hall could come as late as game time. If he does not practice at all, he could still be used on punt and kickoff returns, but replaced in the lineup as a starting wide receiver.
If Hall does not return kicks, those duties would fall to Eddie Kennison on punts and rookie wide receiver Jeff Webb on kickoffs.
