[Kansas City.com] Starting right tackle Kevin Sampson was held out of team work in Friday’s practice, and Edwards said Sampson has a 50-percent chance of playing Sunday against the Rams.
His absence would disrupt a line that had finally found some continuity, using the same five starters for the last five games.
“I thought we jelled together pretty much keeping the same guys out there,” Edwards said.
If Sampson can’t go, Kyle Turley will start. Turley was the starting left tackle before his back problems flared up in the bye week. Another option the Chiefs could have this weekend is John Welbourn. The club is expected to decide today whether to add Welbourn, who was out with a six-game suspension, to the roster.
