Dear Mr. Peterson

As I sat through what is most likely a devastating loss for my beloved Chiefs I thought of several things which I would like to bring to your attention, speaking (of course) as a season ticket holder and a loyal fan of the Chiefs.

Please do not have the gall or audacity to send out season ticket renewal letters which also include a RISE in ticket prices. My tickets have increased from $70 each to $88 each in just the short span of five years. As a consumer of a product, football, I do not think that I am getting a fair return on my investment. Just for once I would like to see prices stay the same or perhaps even decrease. I believe that this is only fair.

Speaking of prices, could something please be done about the outrageous and perhaps even criminal prices of concessions and parking? I have to admit that $6 for a beer is almost a sin. I can get a six-pack of good Michelob for that price here at home. And $20 for parking is surely a bit much. I am aware that Lot A, where I always park, is going to be a permit lot next year. Again, the zeal for money overrides the concern for the common fan to go to a game and enjoy the pleasures of tailgating at one of the premiere sports venues in the country.

If you insist on being party to a constant rise in the price of supporting a team I love, and I have supported this team longer than YOU have been associated with it, then I insist that you take whatever steps necessary to improve that team.

Is there some reason that the staff responsible for talent assessment cannot find a decent defensive tackle? Heck, I believe that the average fan can do this job, and for a lot less money than is being paid to those who should be doing it.

I do not feel that I am being unreasonable. After all, I drive nearly 600 miles on game day to show my support and loyalty to a team I love. I am positive that I am not the only fan who travels great distance to show their devotion to the Chiefs. The Chiefs boast of perhaps the most loyal and knowledgeable fan base in the league. All we ask in return is some courtesy and respect for that loyalty. As I am sure you heard today, we are as capable of booing as we are of cheering. Please assist in giving us more to cheer. Patience should never be confused or mistaken for quiet acceptance of failure. We have tolerated failure and we have accepted shortcomings up to now. Do not allow them to continue.

With loyalty and devotion to the CHIEFS,
David Kelley, Season Ticket Holder
Fort Smith, Arkansas
