[KC Chiefs.com] Kansas City Mayor Kay Barnes has issued a proclamation declaring Tuesday, December 19th, “Red Tuesday” in Kansas City in honor and memory of Chiefs Founder Lamar Hunt. The proclamation encourages all Kansas Citians, even those not attending memorial services for Mr. Hunt, to wear Chiefs red tomorrow.
“Lamar Hunt will be missed greatly by the Kansas City community,” said Mayor Barnes. “There are few individuals whose contributions and commitment to our city reach the magnitude of those made by Lamar. I encourage everyone to wear red tomorrow as a way of saying ‘thank you’ to Lamar for all he did for our community.”
The Kansas City memorial service for Mr. Hunt will be held at the Community of Christ Auditorium in Independence, Missouri on Tuesday, December 19th, at 2:30 p.m.
The memorial service is open to the general public. Doors to the auditorium will open at 12:30 p.m. with the program slated to begin promptly at 2:30 p.m.
