[Kansas City.com] Four Chiefs – running back Larry Johnson, tight end Tony Gonzalez and guards Will Shields and Brian Waters – were named today to the AFC Pro Bowl team.
Shields will be a starter in the Feb. 10 game in Honolulu. The others will be reserves.
Their selections were not surprises. All played in last year’s game, too. Shields has played in 11 Pro Bowls, Gonzalez seven, Waters two and Johnson one.
Johnson is second in the league in rushing with 1,516 yards. He trails San Diego’s LaDainian Tomlinson by 110 yards. Tomlinson is the Pro Bowl starter.
Gonzalez is second among AFC tight ends with 66 catches. The Pro Bowl starter, San Diego’s Antonio Gates, has 65 receptions. The tight end receiving leader is Cleveland’s Kellen Winslow with 76, but he was not selected.
