[Kansas City.com] Pro Bowl guard Brian Waters enlivened the pregame locker room with a spirited speech that one teammate called “extraordinary.”
“He said we just needed to go out and play, not to worry about making mistakes, but go out there and play with emotion,” safety Sammy Knight said. “That’s what we did.”
As the Chiefs continue to age, the 29-year-old Waters is becoming more of a leader.
“I was just expressing some opinions of mine,” he said. “I just asked for the best. I didn’t ask for anything more or less.”
“It’s part of my role, just as it is for a number of guys, veteran guys. I fall into that category as well as other guys. If you have something to say, why hold it back? At this point, we have nothing to lose.”
