LJ had to rush 80 more times to get the same amount of yards as he did in 2005. Oh wait, I’m sorry, I forgot, it’s all Trent Green’s fault.

Question (from postgame conference week 1) -
“Did you (Herm) make a mistake by not bringing in a kicker to compete with Justin Medlock in training camp?” -

Herm Edwards (Chiefs coach) -
“It’s OK if they’re both right-footed. But the problem you run into is when you get a left-footed kicker (like Medlock). Then all of a sudden you get a right-footed kicker and the holder’s splitting time with the left-footed and the right-footed kicker. The problem is that our holder (Dustin Colquitt) is new. He only started holding two years ago, and he was just getting used to holding for a right-footed kicker. Now he’s had to switch back.”

JD (self-proclaimed know-it-all) -
Herm talks in circles like a politician and his answer gives me a headache. I know what he’s trying to say, but it still echoes Herm’s inability to see the forest for the trees. To save the holder, we kept a kicker who can’t kick. How F’N hard is it to find a left footed holder so we can make some field goals in a field goal dependent offense?!

Other NFL Coaches in Herm’s Position

Sean Payton, 0-2 Saints head coach, said that they as coaches, need to look at what they’re doing, so they can put their players in the position to do what they do best.

Scott Linehan, 0-2 Rams head coach, said their 0-2 start falls squarely on him, he’s the head coach, and it’s his responsibility.

Has Herm Edwards ever said something like that? No? I’m so surprised. What does Herm say? He blames the team. And Trent Green. And Vermeil’s offense. And Arena Football. And George Bush. (Just kidding about that last one folks, George Bush apparently was not on Vermeil’s staff, my bad.)

Ravens at Bengals, Week One MNF

“It’s too difficult to see, but he’s clearly down.” – Mike Terrico on the Ravens 3rd and goal play at the 2 minute mark that was stopped at the one.

How can he be clearly down if you can’t see? Since when did Mike Terrico coach for the Chiefs?

We are not the only ones with a moron for a head coach. Brian Billick’s Ravens had two first and goals from the five yard line. On both possessions he had three runs that brought the ball to the one, and then he thought passing was a good idea. Especially since it worked so well on a previous drive’s 3rd and 1 (pass was intercepted). The first goal line possession resulted in a turnover on downs, which was negated by a Cincinnati penalty. Do you think he learned? Of course not, on the second chance goal-to-go the pass was intercepted, end of game. I didn’t know Brian Billick went to the Herm Edwards school of coaching.

Black Sunday

Last week I had a suggestion for showing Chiefs fans how to voice their disapproval of the current administration. I suggested that if you had a black Chiefs jersey or t-shirt, you should wear it, and maybe a sea of black instead of red might embarrass the owner enough to consider a change at the end of the season, because obviously they didn’t seem embarrassed by the three point effort against the vaunted Houston Steel Curtain Defense.

No surprise, a few didn’t like my SUGGESTION. “Dumb”, “stupid” & “horrible” were thrown around. You can read all of the comments here:

What’s funny to me is that some seem more upset with my SUGGESTION, than with Herm giving a vasectomy to our #1 offense.

Protesting a 19 year tenure that has produced ZERO championships does not make me less of a fan. I have been a Chiefs fan for 33 years, and I am tired of the losing. Some people apparently are not. If you enjoy watching you team score a whopping three points against a 6-10 recent expansion team on their second head coach, then enjoy. I don’t.

I did not suggest that anyone go out and buy a new shirt, I was working under the assumption that all Chiefs fans would have at least one black Chiefs t-shirt, and apparently they don’t. The Raiders do not own the copyright on the color black. You are still wearing Chiefs gear, you are still supporting the team, you’re just giving a big FU to Herm & Carl.

For all that don’t agree, if you have a better suggestion, I would love to hear it. The only problem with the throwing the red flag idea at the stadium is it could get you arrested.

I live in Chicago, and daily, I see first hand how blind fan loyalty actually stagnates the growth of a team. The Chicago Cubs haven’t won a championship in a HUNDRED years (and that is no exaggeration). The Chiefs haven’t won a championship in 38 years. Blind loyalty enables management to keep the status quo. Hasn’t Carl Peterson raised ticket prices every year but one?

Once again, this is all just my opinion. I could be wrong, but probably not.
