[Miami Herald] Former Chief, and current Miami Dolphins quarterback Trent Green suffered a concussion in today’s game against the Houston Texans.
Green suffered a blow to the head on a defunct play when he attempted to block Texans defensive tackle Travis Johnson. Johnson’s leg hit Green’s head, knocking Green to the ground in an unconscious state, where he laid for nearly 10 minutes.
Green was strapped to a stretcher and loaded into an ambulance in a dark hallway below Reliant Stadium.
After being transported to the emergency room at a local hospital, Green has been listed in “good condition,” a hospital spokesperson said Sunday.
The concussion comes just over a year after Green suffered a severe concussion while playing with the Chiefs that caused questions about whether he should return to the NFL. After that play, he also laid on the field motionless in an eerily similar way for nearly 11 minutes.
Players and coaches took a knee shortly after the play to pray for Green as he was loaded onto the stretcher.
