Give the Croyle a chance…it is hard to throw the ball when you are running for your life or when you are flat on your back! If he had the offensive line that they had from 4 years ago, who knows what the kidd could be capable of doing?

Classic Herm. He sure thinks highly of himself.(The master talent evaluator). You can probably hear the sarcasim in my writing. I did not expect the chiefs to make much noise in free agency, given thier track record in the past(Kendrell Bell). But I expected them to sign more than one player. Atleast get more people to visit. It appears that Herm has turned KC in to the Saharia dessert, and no one even wants to give the Chiefs a shot at signing them. I guess they knew that King Carl would not shell out any money anyway.
Herm had better make good on his draft picks this year cause they could be his last in KC.

People we’re not going to grab anyone that’s worth a flip!! and we’re going to be rebuilding for a couple years. I love the CHIEFS and I want to see them in the SB as much as anyone..heck I even went out and found a 69 SB jacket cause it may be the only one their ever in, and I was 4. But we have to look at what the Giants did, and they did it through the draft. I don’t want to see a flash in the pan, I want to see a team that can be strong…maybe win a couple Championships!!! So we need to build through the draft. And I do agree with Herm that we need players that are CHIEFS not other teams trash. we’ve had a couple good drafts, and we have 10 picks this year. Lets see what happens.

The only problem is that even if we did pursue another free agent WR, there aren’t any left. Berrian, Stallworth, Moss, Colbert, Henderson, Porter and Patten have all either re-signed or signed with another team. Now OL wise, we need to draft Jake Long with the first pick. CB, if Aquib Talib is available in the 2nd round, the Chiefs need to grab him. Brian Kelly and Gary Baxter are really the only good CB’s left and chances of getting those guys are remote. But this is bullshit. Every other team out there is trying to rebuild their team while were just sitting on our asses, not even, at least, talking to some free agents. Carl Peterson needs to go. We will never win a Super Bowl under him.

I agree Rabbid Fan and Jesse, we have to remain optimistic, but I also don’t think we should shut the door on free agency. We need a Fullback badly, and T-Rich and Lorenzo Neal are out there just waiting to be picked up. I know they are older than dirt, but we just need one of them for a year, until we can get somebody else. I think we should have grabbed Jeff Faine or at least Jerry Porter to put on the other side of Dwayne Bowe. I think it’s crazy that we were looking at Gaines Tight End from Buffalo. WHAT?! We don’t need a freaking TE!!! Not as bad as other positions anyway. I don’t think Herm is to blame here fellow Chiefs brothers. The one to blame here is King Carl Peterson. He needs to hit the road. He needs to make like a dick and beat it.

Well, the days pass by as the Chiefs fulfill their destiny of a half-packed Arrowhead stadium in 08 as well as the inevitable firings of Herm Edwards and Peterson and the arrival of “THE CHIN” Bill Cowher.

I don’t know if we are capable of winning one game next year. I wish I were kidding. Sorry but Jake Long isn’t going to change a damn thing about it.

Hey guys I just want to say that you all may be right Herm may not be a coach. But he did better with the Jets 4 out of 5 years to the playoffs than any coach we’ve had since Marty. And what has fa’s done for us? the last time we signed an fa that helped was Montana and Allen. Law didn’t do anything, and I don’t know why we still have Surtain? what free agents have we signed that’s done much of anything. Look what it’s done for the Redskins, or the Raiders hell look at the Pats they go and sign Moss and Welker go 18 & 0 and then lose to the G-Men in the bowl what a disappointment. FA’s are not the answer people, building through the draft is. But with all that being said I am not happy with everything Herm has done, and if the team doesn’t show signs this year of becoming a near future SB champion not contender than I think he should go, and I think Carl should go with him. who One thing that herm is doing that no one has done for a long time is get young, build thru the draft, and try to develop are own QB.

Let’s face it, if Lamar hadn’t passed away, I think last year would have been the last straw for Carl Peterson. Mr. Hunt saw enough of losing when his friend Jack Steadman was in charge, and I think he learned his lesson in the last 25 years with the winning, because when it comes to sports franchises, unless you are in a major market, the only think that is going to make you big money is winning!

I will be willing to bet that the Kansas City Chief’s Organization has increased its value more than any other franchise in the NFL other than the New England Patriots and the Colts since 1985, and I may be wrong, and if I knew where to look up such a stat to verify it I certainly would.

Let’s all talk about the 400lb elephant in the corner. The only reason Herm is still the coach is because he is black. No other coach in the NFL would be allowed to continue this joke of a career. I have nothing against black coaches, Dungy is one of the greatest. Lovie in Chi town as well, but herm is a loud mouth, and Carl is scared of that.So get ready Chiefs fans, until somebody gets some balls in this orginazation, there’s a whole lotta loosin goin on!!!!

The problem with this logic is that there are too many holes to fill, even with the ten draft picks. You can not possibly tell me, Mr. Peterson and Mr. Edwards that a bunch of rookie offensive lineman are going to be able to block well enough for Brodie Croyle to stay on his feet long enough to get the ball to either Tony G. or D. Bowe or God know who you are going to draft to compliment them.

If that does not happen we are back to square one, Larry Johnson, if he stays healthy, which is now in question…

Face it gentleman you screwed the pooch, you should have traded LJ when you had the chance! He will never be the player he was, and he will never play out that contract extension, why? Because at the time when you should have been thinking about the team, you went and drafted a guy like LJ in the first place. NO CHARACTER, all the guy did since day one when he was drafted by the Chiefs was complain. First it was that he was a Chief, then no playing time, then not enough playing time, then too much playing time then not enough money and then he signs the big contract and gets hurt! Look back through all the records, if I am wrong call me out!

Mr. Peterson used to be a guy of integrity, but now he just wants to hire his friends. As long as his “friend” is the Coach of the Chiefs, unfortunately, I doubt very seriously the Chiefs will win a playoff game, because this guy is Marty ball X ten!

yea…optimistic. I have been a DIE HARD chiefs fan since birth and I cant ever remember being so let down. Cause ten picks in this years draft is gonna fix the problems we have. I agree we do need to get younger……so lets start with the head coach and GM. Or maybe try to keep the young talent we do have, (ala jared allen). Im starting to believe that there are a few of us on this web site that are better fit to run this franchise. I love this team and will live and die with our record, but its time to get real, we are gonna be drafting top 5 for the next couple of years.

Amen RabbidFan! I am still going to remain optimistic. FA’s are NOT the only way to go. Under Edwards, so far, the Chiefs have done above average in the draft. Besides there are still numerous FA’s out there that may be able to contribute if Peterson and Edwards allow.

Come on guys don’t give up on OUR TEAM yet! Give them a chance and see where we end up after the season.

A little prayer wouldn’t hurt either.

WHOA WHOA WHOA!!! Whats up with all this pessimism? Free Agency is not the only way to win in the NFL. Why spend unnecessary money on the trash that’s out there? We have 10 draft picks that will set us up for a future run. The Packers, Eagles, Steelers and Patriots all believe in drafting before Free Agency and it has seemed to work out for them.

And as for Croyle, tell me what you have seen that makes you so upset with him? The guy has an incredible arm and was very accurate in college. If he can stay on the field this guy has an incredible upside. 56% completions and 6 TD to 6 Picks is not a bad start for a first year guy who didn’t even start the season. Peyton Mannings first year was 56% 26TD’s 28INT’s

Rome wasn’t built in a day here guys. The pessimism is unlike Chief nation and to say I’m disappointed would be an understatement. So lets stop wishing we were Denver and picking up every FA we can and still not win and let’s do it the way winners do. Through the draft.

Jeff from Jersey is right — Coyle sucks. And so does Herm. He is headed for a 1 and 15 season (I think we might be able to take the Raiders at home). I expect us to look like a JV team next year. Youth is good, but you have some veterans (free agents) in there too. If we draft 10 players, I expect 2, at most, will be starters. That leaves several positions to be played by backups from last year (remember, we were 4-12 while they were on the bench last year). Getting a free agent LB shouldn’t have even been a priority. I have been a Chiefs fan since 1969 and I don’t remember ever feeling this frustrated.

Yeah Herm good thinking, don’t want to waste our time on bringing someone in who might surprise everyone. Tony Richardson is a free agent, screw it though we just turn a special teams guy into a make shift full back. I’m surprised the chiefs even have new equipment. We have to face it we’re the bad news bears of the nfl. We’ll just make due with what we have, no point of going out to trying to find talent. Two of top free agents the chiefs were interested in wouldn’t even talk to the front office. Says a lot about Carl. Absolutely ridiculous that Herm and Carl both have jobs, I wouldn’t let them dogsit for me. It’s only a matter of time before the Arrowhead gets corporate sponsorship too, in honor of Herm and Carl i vote for Massengill Douchebag Stadium. Or maybe we could find a good proctologist for sponsorship, because all of kansas city is taking it right in the cornhole……….I’m done.
