LOL, Is this what Chiefs fan do? Bitch about Bennie Sapp and Kris Wilson? Bitch about your coach and GM all the time? It's good to know the Chiefs have loyal fans who believe in them. You may hate me because i'm a Bronco fan but atleast I have optimistic views about my team and don't just bitch about them all the time. You guys are ridiculous, this is a disgrace.

I like the way Toby Stone (post #9 above) is thinking. Thats what GOOD or GREAT GM's are supposed to do - Make bold and imaginative moves to benefit the team. I'll go one step further here and propose that they trade Tony G. (with his permission) for at least a number 2 draft (a 2 and a 4-5 would be better). With or without TG the Chiefs are NOT making a run on anyone this year. TG deserves a shot at a title and he doesn't have that many more years (11 already I think). Trade him now when he is still at Pro Bowl caliber.

It's not that he was a great player. He was a good player who could play 3 positions as well as contribute on special teams and he was young. Did he play a vital role for us....no. But he was a solid contributor in a lot of areas. Plus, he was drafted by the Chiefs and could have remained a Chief for a relative bargin salary.

Here is what I think the Chiefs should do on draft day. NFL Network keeps stating the Cowboys are looking to move up to get McFadden well if I'm Carl or Herm I trade my first (#5) overall and my second pick in the sixth round (#21) in that round to Dallas for their two first (#22, #28) and their pick in the second round (#30). The picks on the scale that teams go by rate as the following #5 is worth 1700 and the #21 in the sixth round is worth 20, which totals 1720 from the Chiefs. Dallas's picks total the following #22 is worth 780 #28 is worth 660 and the second round pick #30 in that round is worth 284 which totals 1724. That is only a four point difference in the trade which would be perfect for the Chiefs. They would have two first and two seconds and a total of 11 draft picks. The Chiefs could pick up a QB, WR, or multiple high quality lineman or corner. The chiefs would have basically three first round picks because their second round pick is at #4 which is close enough to the first to be as good as a first round pick. Thats my opinion on this what do you guys think about this. Oh by the way Herm says we are a running team go out and get a quality blocking FB like Lorenzo Neal ok!

Vermeil inherited an old team too, for instance he lost BOTH his top OL before his first season (Szott & Grunhard). Vermeil got the team heading in the right direction in less than a year by making the necessary moves. Herm's in year 3 and still going downward. How long do you give him?

I'm sick of hearing how bad Vermeil's drafts were. We got L. Johnson, Allen, D. Johnson, W. Roaf, P. Surtain, J. Welbourne, Green, Colquitt, K. Mitchell, and others. Sure some of those guys were veterans acquired by trading picks, but we still got ~3-4 good/great years out of most of them. That's as good as even the best drafted young players if you let them go after their first contract (free agent after 4 years).

You can't grade Herm's drafts yet, b/c most the players haven't really seen the field! Claiming Tank and Turk are successes is a joke. They haven't done ANYTHING yet. And even though Pollard and Page get a lot of hype, they were outplayed (statistically and by objective experts) by their predecessors Knight (Jax) and Wesley (when on the field) last year. The only reason they were given the starting jobs were because of (1) potential; (2) developmental; (3) Herm's desperation to have something to point to as the future. Don't get me wrong, I like Pollard and Page and think they'll be good, but I'm just telling it like it currently is.

There is absolutely no objective evidence (yet) that the past 2 drafts were the best of late. It's all based on hope and the fact that most these guys haven't had enough time to be proven as bad yet. If they haven't been proven as bad/busts, then the mind naturally favors hope and sheds positive light upon them. I'm not saying they aren't the best of recent years, i'm just saying we don't know yet and won't know for awhile.

The problem is that we only have 10 draft picks this year and will have far more holes to fill than that. We will have to then pick-up a bunch of rookie free agents who will probably make the team. I'd be willing to bet that we have the most rookies on an opening day roster next year. How many games do you think we will win like that? I don't understand why we are letting young players like Sapp & Wilson leave when they are just entering the prime of their careers. They may not be All-Pro caliber, but how many players that we draft will be either.

People would some one please tell me what Kris Wilson did for us that we can't live without?? We need to re-bulid this team. I for one am tired of seeing us pick up old players that take us no where and draft picks that bust. Now I am not convinced that Herm is a great coach, and I don't agree with everything he has done, and I do think that Carl needs to go, but I am sure that getting young and building through the draft is the right way to go. I will be willing to bet that this team will win in the playoffs within the next couple seasons, and we will see them make it to the Super Bowl soon. It might not be with Herm, but he will build the foundation to what a winning team is. Everyone just dogs on him all the time, I agree that his clock management is horid, and I don't think that we should have let Sapp go, amoung other things.. but this man inherited a team that had an aging offense, a rising defense that up until last year was not consistant. Our time to win a SB was when Trent, Priest, Tony G & Tony R were on the team and we went 13-3 with the #1 offense and couldn't get past the Colts, that was our time and Vermiel did not field a Defense that could hang, that is why we didn't win. Other teams in this league have had coaches around for a long time before they one the SB...Cower & Dungy comes to mind. Gruden inherited a Dungy team that was already made for winning, and Coughlin was about to get fired along with all the get rid Eli chants, you can't expect Herm to do it all in 2 years with old players. Everyone... what has been are best drafts as of recent?...last year and the one before. Pllard, Page, Tamba, Tank, Turk..... I think Herm will get this ship turned and I think that people will be eating some words!!!you half to give it some time. Again i don't agree with everything he's done...but when did we last have a coach who one the big one for us....oh yeah HANK STRAM 1969!! and how did he do it? through the draft...he had players that we're CHIEFS!!!

This is Great!!! That leaves us with # 46 Oliver Hoyte as our starting fullback!!! I can't wait!!! If I was Tony Gonzalez I would start to worry.

Can you hear that?

That is the sound of Lamar Hunt turning over in his grave!!!

At this point all I can figure is that Herm is going to make a comeback as a player. He plans on playing C, OT, TE, DB and kicker. Carl will also have to suit up being we don't have enough players to fill the roster.
At this pace we should be down to 5 or 6 guys left by the start of training camp.
Can you say AFC doormat for years to come?

I'm tired of seeing players leave. I dont know about you guy's here, But I want to see last years problems get fixed. How can you address them if you have to start replacing all of your best players. KW is a young, 3 position player.

Everyone can run away!! right Greg Welsy?
