Chiefs to Hold Open Tryouts

Chiefs to Hold Open Tryouts

April 1st, 2008 @ 7:18 am; ChiefsWarpath.com

[KC Chiefs.com] In a continuing effort to upgrade their talent level, the Kansas City Chiefs will hold open tryouts on Saturday, May 10, 2008 at their practice facility. This will be the Chief first open tryout in team history.

“If you played football in college, high school or even Pop Warner, and have a dream of making it in pro football, this is where you want to be,” said Chiefs head coach Herm Edwards. “With all the players we’ve lost this offseason, we need bodies, and who knows, we may just find the next Vince Papale.”

All players will be evaluated in the 5-yard dash, butterfly stretch and the limbo. Selected players who exceed the Chiefs testing standards will be invited to participate in an elite workout later in the day, where players will be evaluated in drills specific to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Advanced registration is $100 and is payable by check or money order to the Kansas City Chiefs, Free Agency Fund, no later than Friday, May 2. Participants may register on site the morning of open tryout for a “Day Of” registration fee of $175.

  15. This may have been an April Fool’s Joke. However, the scary part is how believable it really was. We are at the point now where it may come down to this, just to fill our roster.

  16. I didn’t question the integrity of this story at all. It wasn’t until I began reading the comments that I picked up on the April fools. I wish I wasn’t a chiefs fan. BTW, not taking Long or Clady with their pick would make less sense than peterson’s tenure. A blind man could listen to a player and evaluate talent with more discernment than this guy. Hell, pay me my current, joke of a salary and I bet, with a year experience I’d exceed Hunt’s expectations. If it’s possible, I’m going to do my best to be a Steeler’s fan, or Ram’s fan; so I can forget about the $800 I blew on nosebleed tickets for myself and my family last year - not including gas, mileage on my car, and all the $100 ticket I got for speeding away from that shameful broncos game. I’d be less ashamed to be a fan of jay cutler right now
