FYI - BJ is a helluva pick up for yall at the return position. I wish the Saints could have taken him. He's an exciting player to watch (remember the two Monday night games in '04) He has some health issues but he's proven before that he can comeback strong after injury. The fact some people are complaining, although not surprising, does show that some would rather complain instead of putting the time into researching a player's history. Good luck to yall this Season.

I think Sams is a good pick-up. He is better than Dante and Drummond are at this point.

As for CHIEFS fans, REAL CHIEFS fans - have some CLASS!
Crying about no FA's, and going 4-12, nobody wants to hear it. Herm has a good plan, and he is going to be our head coach this year and next, I wish him well, as I will be a Chiefs fan either way.:)

If you guys know like I know you wouldn't doubt the Sams kid! He is probably one of the hardest working guys you will ever come across and is not afraid to make a play by all means! If he is healthy to play then all I can say is he is going to close alot of mouths from talking negative and he is going to open alot of eyes that didn't want to see him there!

What happened to Justin Phinese (sp)? He wanted the job badly, but they went with friggin Drummond over him during camp last season. I say that kid deserves a shot at it.

yeah i agree we need to sign jared allen to a five year deal we need him on our team in the future as for Brodie Croyle i think he can play well enough to be a starting quarterback but i don't think he can stay healthy enough to be your starter! our line is terrible and Brodie had problems last year AND when he was in college. He will be plagued with injuries and if we're buliding towards the future we need a SOLID franchise Quarterback. If Brodie doesn't work out then we'll be set back a few years in developing a new QB for the future. I don't think it would be a terrible thing if the Chiefs drafted Matt Ryan if he's there but then i guess you still don't have a line for him either

Come on folks, real issue here is getting back to being competitive week in and week out. Sign 69 to a long term deal, pick up some young blood in the draft to create competition. Sams if healthy can be a real threat returning, if not we got him cheap and have all camp to cut him. Same w/ Darling and the BL from Atl. Point is we are trying to build a team and not buy one. We have already been down that road and it got us no where. Let's give the youth movement a chance to work. Both DJ andLJ are young, Brodie and Bowe are young. Allen is coming into his prime and Hali is learning how to play, young safeties, solid punter. Let's rebuild the line, find a compliment for Bowe, get the corners tied down and get back to winning games! Get that Arrowhead swagger back then take that show on the road and try to get back to the top of the West! Gun's got some toys and just needs a couple more. Reestablish a dominant run and all of you will stop whining about free agancy and you can start beating your chest about how solid a fan you are again.

does this even matter? Darling and Sams, is this what herm and carl think of as getting things done? i mean chiefs WR's are trash anyway, so nothin new. and everybody and their brother knows the entire KC offense consists of larry johnson running into the back of a horrible O-line.

i just really hope the draft is huge because herm plans on not just playing, but starting at least 5 people he hasnt even met yet. maybe they're seeing something im not, to me this years draft isnt half as deep as last year was. there's no way you will find another player like Kolby Smith in the 5th round.

but KC fans shoud look at the positive things the chiefs do. not two years ago the chiefs were knocked out of the playoffs only by that years SBXLI champs. even though that was the remains of a dick vermiel team, i guess us devoted fans are just going to have to suffer through the rebuilding YEARS of Herm and Carls, or as i like to call them "herm the worm" and "Queen Carl"

All of you Herm supporters remind me of Buffalo's heading off the jump! Charging right off of the cliff with no clue how to improve the team! You simply support with no feedback whatsoever of improving the team! Go ahead and support the team when they are 3-13 or worse! I for one will support my team again when they care about winning and not just drawing a paycheck! Herm backers remind me of Obama backers! Following a silver tongued devil with a lot of great words and nothing of substance behind it!

Correct me if I'm wrong but did we not have a decent returner umm a couple of season ago and was let go. Dante Hall and I believe that was around the time the "Herm" era began.

SOMEBODY SAID DONT WORRY HERM WONT MAKE THE PICKS HIMSELF AND CARL WILL BE HELPING, THAT TERRIFIES ME ANY MORE. I HAVE A FEELING THE WIZARDS WILL DRAW MORE ATTENDANCE THIS YEAR THAN THE CHIEFS. THE ONLY GAME THAT MIGHT BE A SELLOUT IS ON MARTY SCHOTTENHEIMER BOBBLEHEAD NIGHT.HA! HA! WE DO HAVE NOTHING TO FEAR WITH HERM IN CHARGE, HE ONCE SAID "YOU PLAY TO WIN THE #I DRAFT PICK". KANSAS CITY IS TURNING BACK INTO A ROYALS TOWN. CHIEFS ARE BLACK AND BLUE, THE ROYALS BRING BACK THE POWDER BLUE, AND IM FINE WITH IT. THE ROYALS ORGANIZATION IS NOW CLASSY AND DOING THINGS RIGHT,AND THE CHIEFS WITH CARL ALL THE WAY DOWN TO PLAYERS LIKE LARRY JOHNSON ARE CLASSLESS. OH CHECK OUT L.J.S NEW RAP HIT "I HATE THE CHIEFS" AT KCCHIEFS.COM KING CARL IS THE PRODUCER.

FatDaNn, I think you meant Glenn Dorsey... I don't want anything to do with Dorsey Levens unless he'll be a RB coach lol. Personally, using my make-believe GM status, I'd attempt to trade down to get a few more draft picks, considering the number of holes on the roster. If we aren't going to be very active in free agency I'd rather not see the roster filled by undrafted rookies. Despite the lack-luster move to sign Sams, it has a lot of upside and very marginal risk, so not a bad move.

What do you guys think about the fact that Dorsey Levens could fall to us? I think it would be outstanding actually. A player of that caliber to add to our already improving D-line. Gun takin over the LB's Our secondary is close to shambles but Pollard already proved he can be a starter and Page is starting to make the same moves. This D could be in for a HUGE season if we get him, even with 2nd rate CBs.

Chiefs fans everywhere have every reason in the world to bitch about whats going on in Arrowhead. It's being run like a sweat shop, overcharging for a subpar product. And here's the kicker we're still paying top dollar for that product. I've been a Chiefs fan my entire life, and I bleed red and gold. This past couple years has been unbearable. It's hard to watch a game and you can just see the complacency on the sidelines, no one cares. Player are a reflection of the coach and unfortunately ours doesn't have a clue.

To be honest, assuming Sams turns out healthy, this might be the lone bright spot in the Chiefs' offseason. Sams has some serious return skills and could have a Dante Hall impact if we can block for him.

Read the stat lines on this guy...he's actually found the end zone, which is better than quite a few of our offensive players this past season.

ARE YOU GUYS KIDDING SAMS IS DECENT BUT HOW CAN ANYONE SAY WERE HEADING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION? SINCE 2001 HERM HAS ONLY DRAFTED TWO PRO BOWL PLAYERS-SANTANA MOSS AND JONATHAN VILMA, AND HE RAN THE JETS INTO THE GROUND. NEW YORK FANS WERE EXCITED WHEN HE LEFT. THIS GUY HAS ONLY DRAFTED 12 DECENT PLAYERS OUT OF 50. LOOK IT UP THESE ARE FACTS! THIS IS FUNNY BECAUSE HERM SAYS WERE GONNA BUILD THROUGH THE DRAFT, CONSIDERING HIS TRACK RECORD ONLY DRAFTIN 1.5 PRODUCTIVE PLAYERS ON AN AVERAGE PER DRAFT. OTHER THAN DRAFTING GOOD SAFETIES, AND WIDE RECEIVERS HE HAS PRETTY MUCH WHIFFED AT EVERY OTHER POSTIION HE HAS DRAFTED TO THIS DAY. THIS MAN HAS INHERITED TWO DECENT TEAMS WITH THE JETS AND CHIEFS AND IS NOWHERE NEAR A .500 WINNING PERCENTAGE. BUDDY BELL HAS A BETTER TRACK RECORD THAN THIS MAN. IM A DIE HARD CHIEFS FAN BUT I KNOW WHERE WE'RE HEADING IF HE CONTINUES TO MISS ON DRAFT DAY. HOPE IT CHANGES. HERM IF YOUR OUT THERE GET GLENN DORSEY AND NOT A SECOND TIER OFFENSIVE TACKLE IN THE FIFTH SPOT. WE HAVE TO TAKE THE BEST AVAILABLE PLAYER EVERY ROUND TO GET THIS TEAM TURNED AROUND.

Drummond wasn't coming back anyway. He shouldn't even have made it past week 2 last year, but Herm was stubborn.

Sams is a fine low-risk signing. But Sams is coming off a serious injury, so we have no idea if he'll even deserve to make the roster. Time will tell.

P.S. There seems to be more people complaining about other fans complaints than actual complaints! Frankly, i'd rather stick to the topic at hand (the chiefs), whether it's negative or positive. You need both for a free and productive conversation.
