Free Agent Samie Parker Signs with Broncos

Free Agent Samie Parker Signs with Broncos

April 14th, 2008 @ 7:56 pm; ChiefsWarpath.com

[ESPN.com] Though the AFC West is becoming a division of bigger receivers, the Broncos went against the grain and reached an agreement in principle with 190-pound Samie Parker of the Kansas City Chiefs.

Parker’s agent, Jordan Woy, was out of the country Monday, but he was putting the final touches on a contract for Parker. Terms of the deal weren’t available, but it was close enough that Parker was making preparations to sign the contract.

The 27-year-old Parker started 22 games over the past two seasons for the Chiefs. He caught 41 passes in 2006 and 24 passes in seven starts last year. Parker was a 2004 fourth-round pick of the Chiefs.

  1. Why is it the AFC west players switch teams as much as they change their underwear? I know its a business but where is the pride for playing for the enemy?

  4. It was time for him to go, but in general its very concerning that Herm’s youth movement is letting all the young players go (e.g. Wilson, Wilkerson, Grigsby, Parker, Fox) who are all still good enough to sign with other teams. Meanwhile, we’re replacing them with other teams’ practice squad and injury castoffs and college free agents we haven’t signed yet.

This isn’t a youth movement, this is a scab movement.

  7. I spent many a Sunday at Arrowhead screaming “NOOOO, DON’T THROW IT TO SAMIE”. Now when the donkeys come to town I can scream “yes, throw it to Samie…he won’t drop it this time”. Parker puting on a Denver jersey just may be the best thing he has ever done for us. Maybe they can sign Eddie Drummond too.
