This year we build the O-line for sure and give Brodie a year with better protection & experience from last year. If he still cant prove he's our QB for the future then we draft a QB next year and sign a free agent to throw in there while our new QB learns the ropes. I recommend Chase Daniel, Tim Tebow, or even Todd Reesing. Next years QB class is better than this years by far, I just don't see a solid QB this year.

Well let's see, we are solid at TE, 1WR, RB, DE and LB. And safety with no depth. I say the best player available at #5 is what we need. Jake Long will be gone so we are going to have to deal with a 2nd round LT.

Yeah, get a ife! LOL. Man, I miss FOOTBALL! I don't think even Carl can go wrong this year with a #5 pick. It won't make or break us. We need a jelled team. I was a Herm fan, but starting to jump ship. A great coach can put a competitive team on the field, no matter what. This past season, was the first time in ages that it was difficult to watch. Before, win or lose, they were always competitive. I can't wait to see the Patriots lose their first game. I hope its WEEK 1! Go CHIEFS!

I dont understand what you all are fretting about this draft for. By the looks of things we should have either a #1 or a #2 pick in the draft next year (lol)!! Maybe we can get some talent then!! ***pray, pray(let the new head coach pick 'em)pray, pray**

You guys are too hard on Brodie, You cant blame him for all the losses and say that he has too many injuries. He has those because we have a O line that has so many holes it couldnt stop a blitz from a colledge team. Thats why LJ is injured and could not produce last year when he wasnt. If we can get a decent line put together I think Croyle has a chance to be a decent QB. O Line is what we need the most right now, after that would be corners.

I agree with what you are saying(Michael Raite) we have to develop a quarterback of the future( Not Croyle) he was a good QB in college at best but not a NFL starter. I agree he has had no o-line to play behind but even when he had the blocking his game was weak!!!

I completely agree with what FatDaNn is saying...we do not need a QB, we need a team around Croyle. We need an offensive line!! I think we are good on defense besides our CB's. Donnie Edwards will teach all the young LB'ers how to play so we are good there. We had a huge offensive game in the past with nobody recievers..they were only successful because of tony g and priest..we still have tony g and we have lj and kolby who is aight. Trent Green wasn't THAT good until he came to KC and found out Tony G was the man. End of story. Chiefs will go above .800 this year (you guys can all say what you want but i can always hope)..the first game of the year will be mighty tough though..GO

Hey Michael Raite, i hate your post. And i hate everyone who says we need to take a QB cuz Brodie can't do it. Tom Brady would have been the worst QB in the league on our team! It WAS the oline and the lack of a running game that killed Croyle, not Croyle. Get over not liking a guy on the team and start rooting for the right pick not a stupid one!

We as Chiefs fans to have some type of hope for the future. Draft Ryan and lets at least get the ball rolling on the two- three year stall out teams have when playing a young QB.
Let's face it, Long would be a solid pick and we are in need of some o-line in a bad way! But Peterson is going to be looking to save his job so he needs the high hopes of us Chiefs fans and the possibilties of a "SAVIOR"

If Ryan is the best available, i think we should take him. Play Croyle this year behind the crappy line while Ryan gets some NFL legs/head under him. Then in 2009 when we have a better coach, maybe Ryan will be ready to start.

What is really the bad scenario here? Croyle develops into a great starter? Is that a bad thing? Is Cleveland sorry that Anderson turned out to be a very good quarterback because the drafted Quinn? I don't think so. Quinn has trade value and what a nice backup option to have!

What about the situation no one is talking about, ie top picks left are the DE's (C. Long and/or Gholston) and McFadden (RB)? If we can't trade down, can we really afford to reach and leave such talent on the board? Maybe we should draft McFadden. This would (1) Motivate/piss-off LJ into being his former self and (2) give the nice 1-2 punch at RB that the NFL loves these days (no more 400 carry seasons for Larry). On the other hand, a DE wouldn't be a total waste since Hali is still soft on the run (but could develop like Allen did against the run) and we could have one heck of a fresh rotation. Of course, this depends on if you believe Turk has potential anymore, of which i'm not sold.

p.s. Albert is mostly a reach b/c historically starting Guards can be found throughout the draft and are rarely drafted very high. Plus, most people rate people like Clady as technically superior to Albert. Just because Albert is the best at his position, doesn't make him better than the #2 at another position.

If Matt Ryan is there at #5 we should take him! True we need a line, but we need a Quarter Back that we can build the team around. Brodie should have been able to at least win a couple games and he could't. We haven't had a QB in a long time. What if we build a line and are stuck with Croyle and he ends up suckin then what? We might not get a chance at a QB, and from what I've read Ryan seems solid. We should take him if he's there. If not Ryan then maybe we should look at Brhom.

face it, next year does NOT look like we are going to the playoffs unfortunately. We need to build, they need to take MATT RYAN which would be better than Brodie @ #5 and take o-line men with the other picks. We need IMPACT players.

If Herm is expecting 5 starters to come out of the draft, he had better be a scouting genius. We are just wasting our pick if we take Matt Ryan, even if he is better than Brodie, he can't come in and be an immediate starter.
I am praying for some draft day magic.
